In addition to regular teaching, Dr Karim worked for two years and eight months (July 2010 – March 2013) as a ‘House Tutor’ in a students’ dormitory at the University of Dhaka. As part of the university administration, his responsibility was to look after the dormitory students and ensure that they were living in the dormitory in a well disciplined and peaceful manner.

In the past, Dr Karim worked for three years (April 2003 – March 2006) as a ‘Student Advisor’ in the Dhaka Psychology Department. In this capacity, he took care of the psychology students (e.g., dealt with their personal and social problems) and also organized their co-curricular and extracurricular activities including sports, cultural and fare well programs, fresher reception, study tour, annual picnic etc.
