About ME

I was born on the 1st December 1976 into a Muslim family in Sattikry, a village in the District of Sirajganj, Bangladesh. My father, Late A.K. Ahmed Ali Miah, was a school teacher and mother, Mrs. Rahima Begum, is a housewife. Amongst the six siblings (three brothers and three sisters), I am the 3rd son of my parents. I am married to Mst. Shaila Seraj being blessed with two sons, Ridaha Karim and Shayan Karim.

I enjoyed the childhood with my mother at home, and with my father in the Naimury Government Primary School where he served as the Head Master. I spent my boyhood in the Salanga Islamia High School, and then in the Carmichael College, Rangpur. I was graduated in 1997 from the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh, and received a Ph.D. degree in 2010 from Kanazawa University, Japan (Visit1, Visit2). Currently, I am working as Postdoctoral Fellow (Visit) with Dr. Lora Likova at the Envision Research Institute (ERI), Wichita, Kansas, USA; and at the Smith-Kettlewell Eye Research Institute (SKERI), San Fransisco, California, USA. Previously, I worked as a Professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of Dhaka, the highest echelon of academic excellence in Bangladesh (Visit).
